"Way of the reduction of the heat losses of the metal in steelcasting scoop"

For ensuring high quality cast stocking up under unceasing casting by steels, one of defining technological requirements is an ensuring the necessary overheat of the metal, enterring in mould at a rate of 10-15 oC on the temperature liquidus in current of the whole casting process (when working MNLZ in mode "smelting on smelting").

For the reason stabilizations of the temperature of the metal in steelcasting and intermediate scoop in process casting mirror of the metal cover the thermal insulating material: TIS-1, TIS-3K, TIS-2, TSK-20T. Defect of the using TIS is: has a high content SiO2reduces the temperature of the metal in scoop on 3-5 oС, big stand; bear dusty of the material exists at additive in atmosphere of the shop.

For eliminating this defect us is offered to use the mixture on base thermal expanding graphite of the mark OG-2 with admixture: bran, foundry graphite (GL), graphite Zavalievskogo field (MKKZ).

The laboratory tests were organized with miscellaneous version component of the composition and is measured values: porosity (99 %), factor swelling (135-25), density, factor temperature conductivity (α=2,72·10-6m2/s), heat conductivity (λ=0,023 Dg/m·s·oС) and stability spume. At accompaniment of the admixtures to graphite of the mark OG-2 factor swelling (135) decreases and improves stability spume. The Best results are received for mixtures of the composition OG-2(60%)+GL(40%) - a loss of the height spume forms 35% under T=1000 oС on length 1,5 hours.

The industrial experiment was organized on OAO "MK"AZOVSTAL", which has shown high thermal insulating efficiency thermal expanding graphite of the mark OG-2, which can change the traditional material (TIS-1 and TIS-2).
